Project Overview
Ludo Remix is the world’s first skill-based Ludo game, created for real-money gaming with a free-to-play (F2P) version launching soon. This innovative and patented game transforms traditional Ludo by introducing skill-based mechanics, differentiating it from classic Ludo variants in the real-money space.

The Problem
Ludo is immensely popular in India, but traditional real-money Ludo (Classic Ludo) has raised legal concerns, as it has not been established as a game of skill in court. To address this, Games24x7 needed a skill-based version of Ludo that would comply with legal standards and align with the company’s commitment to lawful real-money gaming.
My objective in creating Ludo Remix was to innovate within this legal framework and establish a version of Ludo where skill outweighs chance 'Significantly'!

My objective in creating Ludo Remix was to innovate within this legal framework and establish a version of Ludo where skill outweighs chance 'Significantly'!

The Solution
Skill-based gameplay in Ludo had not been achieved before, primarily due to the chance-based nature of dice rolls. Conceptualized and prototyped over seven skill-based Ludo variants, ultimately finalizing the innovative shared pool 3-dice version.
I introduced a unique “common pool” mechanic (aka shared dice), where three dice are shared between two players, who take turns choosing a die.
This system added a layer of strategy, as each player must consider the impact of their dice choice on their opponent. This design was validated by our Data Science and AI teams, who confirmed the significant increased skill level of this format compared to Points Ludo.
Additionally, I introduced a Reroll power-up that allows players to refresh the remaining dice once per game. This power-up encourages strategic thinking, as players must decide the optimal moment to use it.
